Each year, since 2022, the Bristlecone Bricks & Train Show has invited members of the public to join with us in assembling nearly 10,000 LEGO pieces into a mosaic art piece depicting a community icon. The designer of the mosaic keeps the subject secret, sharing it only select few select, until it is completed near the end of the show.
We look forward to discovering the secret subject of the 2026 mosaic and hope you will join us to help build out 5th mosaic piece.
The Lego Mosaic Project
Starts with almost 10,000 loose LEGO pieces...
Assembled by hundreds of people over two days...
To create a unique piece of LEGO art.
In 2025, the mosaic took a break from the train theme and celebrated the reopening of Cave Lake, which had been closed for dam reconstruction since 2019.
In 2024, the NNRY's Conductor Bill was surprised to be the subject of the mosaic.
In 2023, NNRY President Mark Bassett helped assemble the mosaic of locomotive #81 a 1917 Baldwin steam locomotive.
In 2022, when we were not sure it would even work, we started the mosaic tradition with an image of NNRY #109, a 1950 Alco diesel locomotive.
